A demo isn’t where a CRM proves itself. That happens later, once your producers, account managers, and service team are living in it every day, through renewals, commissions, client changes, and the reports leadership actually wants to see.
This checklist walks through twelve questions worth asking before that point, not after.

What it covers
The questions aren’t the ones already answered on a vendor’s slide deck. Who owns an integration when something doesn’t connect out of the box? Do leads from your website land in the system automatically, or does someone still have to re-key them? Can the platform handle the rate structures your carriers actually use, not the simplified version shown in a demo? What happens to the budget the day you need something outside the standard setup?
Each question comes with a sense of what a strong answer sounds like, so a vague response is easier to spot for what it is.
The distinction that matters most
Most vendors will say yes to almost anything you ask. The more useful question is what that yes actually means. Is the capability standard today? Does it take some configuration to fit your agency? Or is it really a custom build with its own timeline and cost? Marking that distinction for each answer turns a list of promises into something you can actually compare across vendors.
Who it’s for
Any employee benefits broker evaluating a CRM or agency management platform, whether you’re down to a few finalists or reassessing a system you already have. The checklist is vendor-neutral by design. It applies the same way to BenefitsBridge as it does to anything else on the table.
How to use it
Bring it into a vendor conversation and ask them to walk through the actual workflow rather than just answering yes or no. Watch for the moment something that sounded standard turns into a future project nobody priced out loud.
